What Makes It Great

The Quicksilver Endurance Runs 100K is a 62-mile trail race through Almaden Quicksilver County Park and the adjacent Sierra Azul Open Space Preserve in the hills southwest of San Jose. Starting at 4:30am from the park's historic Hacienda entrance, runners climb 13,000+ feet through the mercury-mining legacy of the Santa Cruz Mountain foothills, including the infamous 'Dog Meat' climb — 1,000 feet in 1.5 miles — and a sweeping descent to Lexington Reservoir. The mix of fire roads and singletrack offers sweeping views of Silicon Valley, Mt. Hamilton, and the Santa Cruz Mountains. All official finishers within the 17-hour limit earn a coveted Western States 100M lottery ticket, making this one of Northern California's most sought-after qualifiers.
