The Muir Woods Mountain Challenge Half Marathon covers Mt. Tamalpais' most scenic terrain in 13.1 miles with 3,450 feet of gain. Starting at Stinson Beach, the course immediately attacks Willow Camp hill before running the Pacific-view single-track of the Coastal Trail. Runners then ascend the Dipsea Trail and traverse Muir Woods before summiting Cardiac Hill and making the exhilarating descent back to the beach on the iconic Dipsea steps.
