What Makes It Great

The Perpetua Coast 50K traverses one of Oregon's most spectacular coastal landscapes, weaving through old-growth Sitka spruce rainforest, across a stretch of Pacific beach, along the rocky bluffs of Yachats, and up into the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area — all in a single lollipop-loop course. At 31.1 miles with 5,700 feet of climbing, the terrain shifts dramatically: a fast beach opener gives way to the Oregon Coast Trail's ocean-edge paths, then steep singletrack climbs past towering ferns and mossy root networks deep in the Cape Perpetua headlands. The course is mostly runnable but demands patience on technical root-and-rock sections above the highway. The finish returns runners back to The Adobe Resort in Yachats for a post-race celebration with food, beverages, and custom finisher awards.
