Based on historical averages for May 09

Early May on Colorado's Front Range brings a wide range of conditions. Race day temperatures typically start in the low 40s°F before the 5:30am start and warm to the mid-60s°F by midday. Afternoon thunderstorms are possible, particularly on the exposed Horsetooth ridgeline. Lingering mud and snowpack at higher elevations are not uncommon in early spring. Runners should carry a light layer for the pre-dawn miles and be prepared for rapidly changing mountain weather.
