The Explorer 23km is the perfect introduction to UTCT-style trail running, starting in the lush Constantia Greenbelt and climbing through Cecilia and Newlands Forests toward Devil's Peak. After a technical descent to the University of Cape Town campus, the final 10km demands a steep climb to King's Blockhouse before the contour path rewards runners with panoramic views of the City Bowl, the Atlantic Ocean, and Table Mountain. With 1,038m of elevation gain and 94% finish rate, EX23 offers a true taste of the Cape Peninsula without the ultra commitment.
