A 26.8-mile loop on the Alpine Loop jeep roads of the San Juan Mountains. Starting at Silverton Memorial Park (9,318 ft), runners head straight into the mountains via Howardsville, Eureka, and Animas Forks before climbing to California Pass at 12,926 feet, then looping back through Gladstone and Niagara Gulch.
