The original SOB — a classic PCT out-and-back through the Siskiyous with a new summit finish
Other trail races within 195 miles
The original SOB race and the event that launched many runners into ultramarathon running. This out-and-back along the Pacific Crest Trail travels the scenic Siskiyou Crest with views of Mt. Shasta, the Marble Mountains, and the Cascades, reaching the Jackson Gap high point at 7,100 feet. Updated for 2025, the course now adds a summit finish — after the turnaround, runners climb the backside of Mt. Ashland to a near 360-degree viewpoint at 7,500 feet before a short, steep descent to the finish at Mt. Ashland Lodge. Approachable for first-time ultrarunners, with full-service aid stations and a vibrant festival atmosphere.
