The Tiger Claw Ascent is a pure vertical race up Tiger Mountain's infamous Cable Line trail to the summit of West Tiger 2. Runners gain 2,500 feet in just 2.5 miles — including 1,550 feet in under a single mile on the steepest pitch. Held on Friday evening before the main 50k weekend, it's a lung-and-quad-burning sprint to one of the best views in the greater Seattle area. After crossing the timed summit finish line, runners hike or run an untimed 3-mile blue descent back to the trailhead. Trekking poles and outside crew are not permitted.
