Runners cover 14 miles on a flat, groomed-dirt horseshoe that goes out 2 miles and back, on a 146-acre private property near Eaton, Colorado. The full aid station and crew are at the start and at the turnaround, so help is never more than 2 miles away. The 5-hour cutoff suits walkers and newer trail runners. Finishers then have the rest of the weekend for the sauna, cold plunge, recovery barn and food, with views of Longs Peak across the plains.
