The short option at the Weld Your Mettle Running Festival near Eaton, Colorado. The 7K (4.3 miles) runs on flat groomed dirt on a 146-acre private property, on a route slightly different from the main festival loop. Entrants pick one of two registrations: run or walk it, or ruck it carrying a weighted vest or backpack of at least 30 lb. All 7K entrants get the Saturday lunch and the festival setting, with sauna, cold plunge and views of Longs Peak.
