A scenic out-and-back on the Dike Trail above Cuchara, finishing with craft beer and live music

An out-and-back on the well-maintained Dike Trail above Cuchara, this 7.6-mile run is a great introduction to trail racing above 8,000 feet. From the Cuchara Yacht Club, runners gain nearly 1,000 feet through shaded forest to the high point before descending on switchbacks to the lone aid station at the South Dike Trailhead. The return retraces the route for a satisfying climb-then-descent, finishing back at the Yacht Club Oktoberfest party.
