Bears Ears Ultra 50 Mile

A 49-mile loop through the remote Abajo Mountains of southeastern Utah, running through the heart of Bears Ears National Monument on wild, little-traveled singletrack. The course climbs Robertson Pasture Trail to nearly 11,000 feet, opening up sweeping panoramas of Canyonlands National Park, Monument Valley, Dead Horse Point, the La Sal Mountains, and the San Juan peaks of Colorado. The race crosses ancestral lands of the Navajo Nation, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Hopi Tribe, and Pueblo of Zuni peoples — lending a cultural gravity to the experience that goes beyond the miles. No pacers or crew are allowed at any aid station; runners navigate the entire route independently.
