Sweeping Columbia Gorge vistas and a wild basalt descent in the Pacific Northwest's most dramatic rainshadow
Other trail races within 65 miles
A stout 55K exploring the Columbia River Gorge's iconic rainshadow landscape from above and below. The course threads through oak savanna, Douglas fir forest, and sweeping volcanic grasslands, traversing the Millennium Trail's steep bluffs high above the Columbia River and summiting Mount Burdoin at 2,200 feet — described by the race director as one of the finest viewpoints in the Gorge. Five aid stations span the 33.4-mile loop, with crew access at Jewett Creek (Mile 21) only. The finale is the wild, technical descent of Coyote Wall's basalt escarpment: 1,800 feet in two miles on loose, rocky terrain that tests concentration as much as fitness.
