A brutally technical 50K through Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands on rugged singletrack
Other trail races within 189 miles
The Laurel Highlands Ultra 50K covers the southern half of the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail, running point-to-point from Ohiopyle (elevation 1,200 ft) to the Route 31 trailhead near Myersbrook (elevation 2,760 ft). Considered one of the more difficult 50Ks in the country, the course begins with an immediate climb out of the Youghiogheny River Gorge and traverses challenging terrain past the Seven Springs Resort area. Difficult footing is the norm—steep grades, rocks, roots, mud, and log bridges throughout—with a strict six-hour intermediate cutoff at the mile 19 aid station. Three fully stocked aid stations support runners with drop bag access at all stops. No pacers permitted.
