The opening race of Lavaredo week and the only distance sold first-come, first-served rather than by lottery. Runners leave Corso Italia in central Cortina d'Ampezzo at 7 pm, climb through the woods to Lago Pianozes at about 6.4 km, and return to the same street for the finish. It climbs about 300 m with a two-hour limit. There is no food or drink on course, so runners carry what they need. No UTMB Index is required, but entrants must be 18 and hold a competitive medical certificate under Italian law.
