3-mile summit assault up the Dragon's Back to 11,053ft
Other trail races within 140 miles
A pure uphill sprint from Twin Lakes Basin to the summit of Mammoth Mountain, following the exposed Dragon's Back Trail through high-altitude terrain. Starting at 8,500 feet from the Tamarack Lodge bridge, the course gains 2,400 feet over 3 miles to top out at 11,053 feet. There are no aid stations — just the mountain, cowbells from spectators along the ridge, and a summit party of donuts and music awaiting finishers before a gondola ride back down.
