What Makes It Great

The flagship 100-mile event traverses approximately 102 miles of high alpine singletrack on the Tahoe Rim Trail and surrounding Nevada backcountry, starting and finishing at Western Nevada College in Carson City. Runners climb 18,140 feet of elevation across an extended figure-8 loop through aid stations at Snow Valley Peak (9,214 ft), Spooner Lake, Hobart, Tunnel Creek, and Diamond Peak, with the course averaging 8,300 feet above sea level. The iconic Tunnel Creek Aid Station is visited four times and Diamond Peak twice—both serve full hot meals after dark. A Western States 100 qualifier for all finishers within the 36-hour cutoff.

Must complete a 50 Mile race or longer within the qualification window

Must have completed one of:

  • 50 miles in under 15 hours

  • TRTER 56-Miler in under 18 hours

  • 100K in under 22 hours

  • Any official 100-mile trail race.

Qualifying period: July 1, 2023 to time of registration. Proof must be verifiable on UltraSignup or Ultrarunning Magazine results. Virtual races not accepted.

Service Requirement

8 hrsTrail Work

8 hours of trail construction or maintenance work required between July 1, 2025 and July 1, 2026. Forms submitted to George Ruiz ([email protected]) no later than July 1, 2026. Runners who fail to submit proof are automatically downgraded to the 100K without refund.

Crew Access Points

Pacer Rules

  • Pacers allowed from Diamond Peak Aid Station (mile 39.5) and at the second Diamond Peak visit (mile 72)
  • One pacer at a time. No physical assistance or muling of food or gear.
  • Pacers must check in at Diamond Peak AS, receive a numbered bib, and sign event waiver.

Crew Rules

  • Crew access at two drive-to aid stations: Stonehenge Spooner Lake AS (mile 16) and Diamond Peak Lodge (mile 39.5 and mile 72)
  • No crewing outside designated aid station areas. Tunnel Creek AS accessible by foot only (3.5 miles, 1,800 ft climb).
  • Lower parking lot only at Diamond Peak—no roadway blocking.
