The 23K is an accessible introduction to the TRTER course, climbing from Western Nevada College on the Ash to Kings Connector Trail to the Waterfall Aid Station at 6,740 feet before descending back to the finish. The route offers a taste of the terrain—exposed lower canyon with Carson City valley heat and shaded forest higher up—along with the welcoming aid station culture that defines TRTER.
