Four days, four stages, one legendary loop around Monte Rosa
Other trail races within 87 miles
A four-day stage race covering the same 170 km circuit of Monte Rosa as the single-stage Ultra Tour, divided into four daily stages of 37–46 km with overnight stays in the villages of Zermatt, Gressoney la Trinité, and Macugnaga. The stage format makes the formidable Tour de Monte Rosa accessible to experienced mountain runners who want to experience the full route with rest and recovery between stages. Each stage has its own 12-hour cutoff. Stage 2 includes the glacier crossing of Theodulpass (3295m) with mandatory microspikes. ITRA 4-point race.

Grächen, VS, SwitzerlandSeptember 02, 2026

A spectacular high-altitude traverse on the Europaweg, crossing the Charles Kuonen Suspension Bridge (494m, world's second longest pedestrian suspension bridge) with views across the Mattertal to the Weisshorn (4506m).
Crosses from Switzerland into Italy over the Theodul Glacier (3295m) with mandatory microspikes. The Matterhorn towers above on the Swiss side; on the Italian side it becomes Monte Cervino. Italian-flavored checkpoints follow.
The toughest stage: the most climbing of any single day, narrow trails, long sections of mountain solitude on the remote Turlo Pass. The south face of Monte Rosa looms at Himalayan scale above Macugnaga.
The homeward stage with dramatic views of Monte Rosa's imposing East Face before the wild Höhenweg leads runners back to Grächen for the closing celebrations.
Stage 2 crosses Theodulpass (3295m) with a live glacier section requiring mandatory microspikes.
Conditions vary significantly between Swiss and Italian valleys on the same day. Alpine storms possible.
