A midnight lake odyssey through Piedmont's pre-Alps
Other trail races within 105 miles
A grueling 101-kilometer loop departing at midnight from the shores of Lago d'Orta, climbing toward the summit of Mottarone before winding through alpine meadows and pre-Alpine forests in Piedmont. Runners trace the natural contours of the lake and surrounding mountains, passing through quiet mountain hamlets and returning to Omegna as the second day stretches toward afternoon. With 5,845 meters of vertical gain and four mandatory time gates, this midnight odyssey is one of northern Italy's most demanding trail races.
