BC's most scenic 40-miler through Manning Park's alpine
Other trail races within 140 miles
The Fat Dog 40 Mile offers a genuine mountain challenge on some of Manning Park's most celebrated trails. Starting at the Cascade Rest Area, runners traverse the Skagit Bluffs singletrack, climb to Nicomen Lake and along the Heather Trail on Blackwall Peak, then finish at Lightning Lake. At 40 miles with 8,800 feet of gain, it's a serious effort without the extreme overnight demands of the longer distances — an excellent entry point to the Fat Dog experience.
