The Grande is one lap of the Harriman clover-leaf course near Island Park, Idaho, on gravel, two-track and pine-needle singletrack through forest and open meadow. Runners pass the on-course aid station twice. The race is cupless, so bring your own drinking vessel, and a GPS watch with the course file is advised because the route can be confusing.

No camping inside Harriman State Park, but yurts and park buildings can be rented. Forest Service campgrounds and dispersed camping are nearby (see recreation.gov and Caribou-Targhee National Forest). Hotels and rentals run from West Yellowstone to Ashton, 5 to 45 minutes away.
