Two Chiltern loops from historic Stonor Park to open the Centurion season
Other trail races within 58 miles
A 50 km trail ultra in the Chiltern Hills, run as two different loops of about 25 km that both start and end at Stonor Park, a country estate near Henley-on-Thames that has been home to the same family for more than 850 years. The route climbs in and out of steep-sided wooded valleys, through beech woods and farmland and past small villages such as Ibstone, Skirmett, Hambleden and Bix, for roughly 1,200 m (4,000 ft) of climbing in short, repeated hills. About 80% is on footpaths and bridleways, with the rest on lanes and many road crossings, gates and stiles. Five aid stations and full marking support runners inside a 9-hour limit, and there is no crew or pacer access. Held each March as Centurion Running's season opener, it draws both first-time ultra runners and a fast, competitive front of the field.
