Flat, white, and relentless — an out-and-back across the Bonneville Speed Salt
Other trail races within 185 miles
The most accessible SFER distance — a flat out-and-back across the Bonneville Salt Flats. Runners head north along the Bonneville Speedway for 10 miles on hard-packed salt, continue across compacted salt sands to the 'No Post' aid station at 15.5 miles, then reverse course to the finish. One of the flattest ultras in existence. No crew, no pacers, and no drop bags — just you and miles of white. The 10-hour window is generous for fit runners, but May desert heat on the exposed, shadeless salt demands respect.
