The 50K is the marquee event at Speedgoat, widely regarded as the toughest 50K in the United States. Starting and finishing at Snowbird's base plaza, the course threads through relentless climbs and technical descents that summit Hidden Peak (11,000 ft) twice and include a lung-busting push over Baldy with 2,000 feet of gain in just 1.8 miles. Almost every mile is spent above 8,500 feet in the Wasatch Mountains, with wildflower-draped ridgelines, rocky singletrack, and sweeping panoramic views rewarding runners willing to suffer for them. As a UTMB World Series Finals qualifier, it draws elite talent from around the globe—the top three finishers in each gender earn automatic entry to OCC at UTMB Mont-Blanc in Chamonix.
