What Makes It Great

One of the original five 100-mile trail races in the United States, the AC100 follows a rugged point-to-point course from Wrightwood to Altadena through the San Gabriel Mountains and Angeles National Forest. Runners traverse portions of the Pacific Crest Trail, climbing Mount Baden-Powell, along with the Silver Moccasin and Gabrielino trails, with elevations ranging from 1,135 to 9,300 feet. The demanding terrain and summer heat make this one of the toughest 100-milers on the West Coast.

Race Highlights

A Century Through the San Gabriels
The AC100 traverses the full length of the San Gabriel Mountains, following the Angeles Crest corridor from Wrightwood to Altadena through some of Southern California's most rugged and remote backcountry.
High Desert Skies and 10,000-Foot Summits
Runners climb above 9,000 feet multiple times, earning sweeping views of the Mojave Desert to the north and the vast Los Angeles Basin glittering far below to the south.
A Course That Demands Everything
With over 22,000 feet of cumulative gain and relentlessly technical terrain, the AC100 is a true test of the complete ultrarunner from the first mile to the last.
Racing Into the Night
Most runners will spend long hours navigating the mountains by headlamp.
Decades of Southern California Legacy
Founded in 1986, the Angeles Crest 100 is the cornerstone of Southern California ultrarunning and one of the most respected hundred-mile events in the American West.
