34 miles along the Continental Divide from Lemhi Pass to Bohannon Creek
Other trail races within 185 miles
The Beaverhead 55k covers the back half of the 100k course, starting at Lemhi Pass on the Continental Divide and finishing in the Bohannon Creek drainage near Salmon, Idaho. At 34 miles with nearly 6,000 feet of climbing, the route follows the CDT from the start to mile 18 before detouring onto the true continental divide for another 5 miles of scree and technical terrain. The final descent drops off the divide into the headwaters of Bohannon Creek. Starting at 7 AM from one of the most scenic high passes in Idaho and Montana, this is a legitimate challenge with high-altitude running throughout.
