A midnight 51K on Nevada's Extraterrestrial Highway (State Route 375), starting and finishing in the tiny town of Rachel on the edge of the Area 51 region. The course heads out 13.1 miles along the paved highway, doubles back 2.71 miles, turns again to the far turnaround and then runs 13.1 miles home, climbing gently through high desert between roughly 4,800 and 5,900 feet. Aid stations sit every two to three miles with cupped water, Gatorade and, at the ultra stations, gels. The race runs entirely at night with a required reflective vest and light, and an 8-hour limit that closes the course at 8 AM.
